Why is my 4lo light flashing tundra.

Put in 4lo and pulled it out. Tried to take it out of 4lo and put in drive to disengage 4wd. Put in drive and engine whined like it was in neutral. Sadly wife got in and pur it back in 2hi. Haven’t pulled a code. I’m feeling like it’s a sensor issue but I’m not sure. It started a handful of months ago, and I found that if I turn it off, engage 4WD, and turn the truck back on, it’ll start in 4HI and then I switch it back to 2WD and the lights don’t show up.

Left work and as soon as I turned the truck on these lights were on and the 4LO light was blinking the entire time I drove. I tried turning it off and messing with the 4LO dial/traction control buttons and none of that did anything. The truck drove completely normal except for these lights. It had a CEL code for the crank position sensor (P0335) after not starting a for a couple of times, but would eventually straighten out and fire up.
