Put a cup of dry laundry soap in a sock, with zip tie. Pack this with saw. It will absorb any stray vapors. Put saw power head inside 3 or more plastic bags. Thick ones. Pack it well. Put a tag on the saw, "drained, purged, and preped for shipping" with a signature, "saw tech".

Also I think it works better hooking up to a choker on the log. I have pulled 20' long 24" Douglas Fir logs, 10' long 30" maple and Douglas Fir logs, side hill down hill and on the flat. The 260 is more nimble, ergonomic, optimum b/c setup smaller, faster chain speed, mag case, pricey for homeowner general use. The 310 probably more at home blocking medium wood, could wear longer b/c, better buy for general use, plastic case, consumer grade saw.

So I finally spun up some loops of the Forester chain I bought a few months ago. What I have is 100' of .325 x .063 in semi chisel non safety style. I spun up an 18" loop and made about 100 cuts on stuff that averaged about 5". I was pleased with how it cut. Made good chips and self fed well.
